Revealing the plans for the Nvidia Santa Clara campus is perhaps one of the best ways the company could have celebrated its 20th anniversary milestone. Having "invented the GPU, revolutionized gaming, helped Hollywood make jaw-dropping movies, and powered the world’s fastest supercomputer," as boasted on its blog, Nvidia deserves some new digs.

Said to rival Apple's own spaceship of a campus that should be completed by 2015, the Nvidia Santa Clara campus "will be the symbol, the physical manifestation, of our vision for the company," writes Jen-Hsun Huang. The undulating geometric roof does hold a lot of promise.

Designed by renowned architecture firm Gensler, the Nvidia Santa Clara campus takes on the form of a triangle, which Huang notes is "the fundamental building block of computer graphics."
