While there are wearable devices that are specifically created for fall detection, Nobi is a smart lamp that doesn't need to be worn on the body. The smart lamp take the form of a ceiling-mounted device and it looks no different from a regular light fixture, except that it offers the benefit of artificial intelligence to detect seniors in need of assistance.
The lamp is able to distinguish between people sitting, standing and laying down, and in the case of the latter, it will reach out and ask if help is needed. The smart lamp also boasts the ability to send alerts to family or caregivers and thanks to a two-way mic, the lamp also helps to open up a communication channel.
