Retro-Inspired Platforming Games

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is Inspired by the NES Titles

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Dotemu, is a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer that serves as a continuation of the classic Ninja Gaiden series. Set during the events of the original 1988 NES game, the story follows Kenji Mozu, a young ninja from the Hayabusa Clan, as he defends his village from demonic forces after Ryu Hayabusa departs for the United States. The game introduces a second protagonist, Kumori, a member of the Black Spider Clan, who forms an uneasy alliance with Kenji. Together, they utilize a unique "Ninja Fusion" ability, merging their skills to combat powerful enemies and navigate challenging levels.

The game features pixel-art visuals that pay homage to the series' 2D roots while incorporating modern design elements for fluid animation and detailed environments. Players can expect fast-paced combat, precise platforming, and a variety of gameplay mechanics, including upgradable abilities and hidden collectibles. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound also includes a dynamic soundtrack with contributions from guest composers, enhancing the immersive experience. Scheduled for release in Summer 2025, the game will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
