Nike Women's Soccer Collection is Made Using Recycled Plastic Bottles

 - Apr 25, 2015
The Nike Women's Soccer collection is a first from the international sports brand. Included in the kit is its first women’s-specific integrated soccer cleat collection, which has been something long in the making. The collection will also provide a replica of the women’s specific uniform in men’s sizes to ensure all fans can show their support.

Yet what makes the Nike Women's Soccer collection stand out all the more is its eco-friendly initiative. The brand writes, "Each piece of the kit – the jersey, shorts and socks – is constructed with recycled polyester, which is made from recycled plastic bottles that are melted down to produce fine yarn used to create the fabric."

The Nike Women's Soccer collection will be worn by the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) as they compete for a third Women’s World Cup title in Canada this summer.
