Cowless Pizzeria Cheeses

New Culture's Vegan Cheese will Debut on Pizzeria Menus Next Year

New Culture's vegan cheese will launch on pizzeria menus next year. The San Francisco-based startup raised $25 million for the new venture to bring its revolutionary animal-free cheese to market. The startup company uses microbial fermentation to create the proteins that give animal-based cheese its distinctive characteristics. These proteins are called casein and lend to animal cheese's stretching and melting properties.

The brand's mission is to revolutionize the vegan cheese industry. New Culture's products boast the same stretch, melt, and bubble qualities as animal-based products, all without the use of traditional dairy. The company hosted tasting events for pizzeria industry experts to experience the animal-free mozzarella cheese as a viable alternative to its dairy counterpart.
