At-Home Stroke Rehabilitation Devices

The Neurofenix 'Neuroball' Supports Treatment from Home

Stroke rehabilitation often takes place in hospitals and clinics, but the Neurofenix 'Neuroball' has been developed as a way to help shift some of the aspects into the patient's home.

The device consists of a spherical unit that's held in the hand and will track the movement of the upper limbs as the patient performs an array of exercises and movements. This information is then interpreted by the system to see how the person is progressing. The patient performs the various movements via a series of games to make them more enjoyable for them to do on a daily basis.

CEO and Co-Founder (with CTO Dimitrios Athanasiou) Guillem Singla commented on the Neurofenix 'Neuroball' saying, "For many, many years rehabilitation, especially neural rehabilitation, has been focused on big bulky equipment in facilities. We’ve extracted the essence of what needs to be done in neural rehabilitation: It has to be intensive, engaging, motivating and get people to follow up for not just weeks but months and years.”
