As part of its Retail Branded Partnerships, Starbucks recently teamed up with the Missouri-based business Natalie's Cakes & More to add some of the bakery's goods to local Starbucks stores. With the opportunity to introduce new products across Starbucks stores nation-wide, the program helps to introduce small business to a greater number of customers.
The partnership between Starbucks and Natalie's Cakes & More involves selling the bakery's signature caramel cake at more than 30 Starbucks stores in the St. Louis area. The cake was developed by bakery founder Natalie DuBose who used her father's original caramel and chocolate cake recipe for inspiration.
To further demonstrate its investment in local businesses, Starbucks is also selling the caramel cake at the first Starbucks store in Ferguson, which is the home of Natalie's Cakes & More. As DuBose explains, "The new Starbucks store is a wonderful symbol that the community is worth investing in."
