Keyboard Trackball Add-Ons

Keychron Nape Pro Brings a Trackball and Macros Next to the Keyboard

The Keychron Nape Pro is a compact trackball accessory shown at CES 2026 that attaches alongside a mechanical keyboard to provide precision cursor control and programmable input without reaching for a separate mouse. The device is a slim bar about 135 mm long with a 25 mm thumb-operated ball, six buttons, and a scroll wheel that mimics a laptop-style pointing system while keeping hands on the home row. Keychron and Gizmodo Japan designed the Nape Pro to fit within the footprint of a tenkeyless keyboard and support flexible positioning for left- or right-hand use.

The Nape Pro supports wireless connection via Bluetooth, a 2.4 GHz dongle, or USB-C, and runs on a Realtek controller with a PixArt PAW3222 sensor for responsive tracking. It uses an orientation-aware system called OctaShift that remaps buttons based on how the unit is placed, and its firmware is powered by the open-source ZMK platform.
