Spotify Teams Up with 'Musixmatch' to Implement Real-Time Lyrics

The newest in the list of Spotify's music streaming service features is on-screen lyrics in real-time.
With the help of Musixmatch, Spotify will deliver on-screen lyrics to both paid and free users on all Spotify platforms that have a screen. This includes mobile, web, gaming consoles, and even smart TV applications. While this lyrics service may not be available for all songs on the streaming service initially, Musixmatch and Spotify state that the lyrics will be available on over 8 million titles and most of the Spotify library.
In addition to being able to view the lyrics to sing along, Spotify has also announced a feature that allows listeners to share lyrics in social media posts, such as a tweet or an Instagram story. This real-time lyrics feature is useful for learning songs and is separate from the 'behind the lyrics' feature that offers a backstory on the artist or song.
