The Australia-based design team from Giant Design created the the interior and thematic aura for this restaurant called Mrs Mi. The eatery, which is located in China, was designed with a subtle nod to the owner's mother.
Additionally, the restaurant pulls inspiration from lesser known areas of China such as the cave-like villages in rural Shanxi. With that in mind, the design team was able to combine dark themes with pops of pink-colored accents. The balance between femininity and Chinese counterculture creates an elegantly decorated restaurant.
With dark brick walls and dim lights, the Mrs Mi eatery uses large magenta gates that act as wall decor. The courtyard-styled seating provides a view of the open-concept kitchen for those who want a closer look.
