Daydreaming Bunny Sculptures

The Massive Moon Rabbit Sculpture Depicts the Bunny Daydreaming

Moon Rabbit is the latest supersized sculpture created by celebrated Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. The sculpture, situated near the Taoyuan military base in China, depicts an adorable but massive rabbit reclining on its back, seemingly daydreaming up at the sky.

The Moon Rabbit sculpture lounges on the grass-covered arch of what used to be a military bunker. Its floppy ears and lazily outstretched arms rest comfortable on the grassy slopes. The bunny was constructed from overlapping sheets of paper, wood and styrofoam. Hofman used these materials to prove the utility of everyday materials as artistic mediums.

Hofman himself descripes the rabbit as "laying against the bunker, dreaming and thinking about life and dreaming the impossible possible and creating it’s own true stories."
