Situated in the Los Felix neighborhood in Los Angeles, the home was built for a family who needed a special space for writing and play that would inspire creativity.
The cedar-clad guesthouse boasts straight wooden lines and a simple block-like form meant to evoke a playful fortress. Cedar was chosen for the guesthouse to represent its existing relationship with the main house. The material wraps around the structure in vertically arranged slats for a simplistic and peaceful design. The interior boasts a lower-level office nook that overlooks the garden and a cozy sleeping loft upstairs.
