Architectural designer Antony Gibbons has just completed the design of the Burl Treehouse, which is a range of rounded treehouse pods. These have a modern structure and invite guests to visit and experience nature in a unique way that brings attention to sustainability.
The Burl treehouses are a concept and they fuse organic design with a minimal and subtle nature. The inspiration behind the treehouse is the natural shape of tree burls, which is a rounded and textural growth on tree trunks. It floats effortlessly in the air and merges with the beautiful setting. It is supported by a slender slit and suspension cables anchored to the trees. This reduces the disruption to the forest floor as it is suspended in the air.
