Contemporary furniture is moving toward more dynamic and modular collections. Rux — a design firm based in New York City, focuses on moving this forward in new and unconventional ways. The studio recently updated one of its ranges with an extravagant design that brings ties to windchimes in the form of a modern chandelier.
Dubbed 'Stickbulb,' the modular collection boasts a slick silhouette that is made up of a "series of slender wooden rods" that feature LED strips and powder-coated steel rings. The composition has an adaptable feature as the LEDs can be turned "outward or inward, depending on the amount of light the user desires." In the creation of the windchime-inspired lighting fixture, Rux sets emphasis on sustainable manufacturing as well. Most of the sculptural chandelier is made using ethically sourced wood.
