Long-Range EV Production Agreements

Tesla Received Permission to Produce Its Model 3 Cars in China

Tesla recently received approval to build its long-range Model 3 cars at its Chinese factory, located in Shangai. The announcement was made through the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology posting documents to its website. The company was previously producing the normal iteration of its Model 3 cars at the factory in 2019, and the first models were shipped early this year.

The approval is significant for Tesla as it will be able to produce these vehicles in one of the most important global markets for the company. Additionally, the longer-range versions of the car may be more popular than the standard version, as consumers may value the convenience of needing to charge less.
