The Mobile Learning Framework developed by Qualcomm Technology is an exciting system that can markedly reduce the distractions cellphones have in school settings. It targets children and teens who have such smart devices, ensuring that they are getting the most out of them without treading too far into its recreational functions when in class.
It boasts a 'school zone' that "is an empty container that the school fills with apps and URLs. We create the framework and tie it to its own data plan," explains Qualcomm senior director Vicky Mealer-Burke. Whether established as soon as a student enters the perimeter of the school or in a specific classroom, the Mobile Learning Framework school zone ensures they can only access educational material on their phones.
