Augmented Social Apps

The 'Mirage World' App Uses AR to Connect Users Through Tangible Objects

When it comes to connecting with others in their peer group, youth are often forced to choose between a digital application or a real-world event—but Mirage World is an app that makes it possible for users to enjoy the best of both worlds.

The app uses augmented reality, having users create "Mirages" to leave for other users to discover. These Mirages may be tied to real-world objects, and their staying power at a particular location is tied to an in-app voting system; by upvoting a Mirage, users prevent them from vanishing from sight.

Some of the AR objects that may be left behind by users include GIFs, 3D emojis, text, as well as photos of drawings. Ordinarily, these Mirages will last for the span of 24 hours, but have the potential to stay for longer with a users's say so.
