The Mirage House Features Spectacular Island Views

Athens Studio Kois Associated Architects had to accommodate the rocky terrain of the Greek island Tinos when creating the 'Mirage House.' The home's stand out feature is a breathtaking infinity pool on the rooftop of the home, which offers breathtaking views of the Aegean sea without relinquishing the home owners' privacy in the process.

Architect Nikos Patsiaouras explains, "Some of our clients' major concerns were visibility and privacy. At first we were concerned with the concept of invisibility. We asked ourselves 'How can you make a building disappear?'. Our response was to mimic elements of the landscape."

The architects chose to imbed the building into the landscape and create an open-plan living area in the front of the home. This area is shielded beneath the rooftop pool, which has a double function of further camouflaging the home.
