Mental Health Board Games

MindScape Promotes Understanding and Awareness

Touted as a hybrid between Chutes and Ladders and Life with a focus on mental health, MindScape is a board game that teaches players about various conditions and invites them to navigate scenarios related to different challenges and resources. With this mental health board game, players may encounter triggers, which will set them back, as well as collect coping skills—which may turn out to be helpful or maladaptive.

MindScape was born out of grief, when a licensed social worker and veteran, Shirley Sykes, faced the challenge of explaining complicated emotions to her young son. Knowing that many people experience difficulty expressing emotions, this game exploring mental health and building empathy was created to normalize, and encourage, conversations around tough topics.
