Chery Validates the Stockman for Australian Conditions

Chery Motor Australia is partnering with Australian automotive engineering company Premcar to conduct local testing and validation of the all-new Chery Stockman. As Chery’s first ute, the Stockman will undergo assessments focused on ride and handling across Australian conditions, including urban streets, highways, construction sites, and remote off-road environments. Premcar brings 30 years of local vehicle engineering and testing experience to the program, helping evaluate whether Chery’s existing tuning meets expectations in the market.

The localized approach allows Chery to adapt a global vehicle program around the demands of a specific customer base before its late-2026 Australian launch. For the automaker, using an established local engineering partner can strengthen the Stockman’s market positioning while reducing the gap between global development and regional expectations. The ute also expands Chery’s Australian portfolio beyond its growing SUV range and into a new vehicle category.
