The designer of Mighty Nuts packaging was not satisfied to separate the experience of opening up this carton of pistachios from the act of consuming the contents. Maija Rozenfelde avoided the simple zip seal and the cardboard tongue and slot in favor of a concept that's inspired by the process of shelling the scrumptious tree-grown snacks.
Brown card was a logical material for this inventive box because its color is so similar to that of the seeds' casings. A system of creases, abstractly cut bits of paper and glued edges constructed the two-part carton of Mighty Nuts packaging. The inner compartment works as a bowl to hold and later serve the Pistachios, while an outer claw-shaped cover closes around the edibles like a protective pod.
