Miami International Airport Has Integrated the Tech in a World's First

Miami International Airport is the first airport in the world to incorporate beacon technology throughout its facilities. Using SITA’s Common-Use Registry open standard framework, the airport is so confident the tech and how it will increasingly benefit passenger experience that unlike others, will be integrating it on a large scale.

Maurice Jenkins, Division Director, Information Systems, Miami International Airport, says of this new installation, "Now we invite airlines and our other partners to invent new ways to make the passenger experience at Miami even better. With our beacons, they can now give passengers relevant information on their phones at every point of their journey through our airport." From airport entrances to gates and baggage claim, Miami International Airport will make traveling even more interactive.
