Using historical and cultural heritage for inspiration, these super cool and artsy Mexaheads toys mix art with heritage.
Designed by Bala, Mexaheads are a new type of ‘Art Toys’ that are created to pay homage to Mexican heritage. Not only is the actual toy designed in a way that's inspired by Mexican history, but also the branding identity and packaging design for the toys themselves.
Choosing to name the toys Mexaheads because of the size of their heads -- and the bizarre shape as well -- Bala was assigned to give these pre-Hispanic toys an authentic yet colorful brand identity and packaging design.
“The heart of the project lies in the syncretism of the ancient Mayan culture and the trendy Art Toys, two apparently different aspects,” says the design team from Bala.
