During quarantine, many people are turning to group video calling platforms for face-to-face interactions at a distance and Facebook is introducing a solution of its own called Messenger Rooms. With Messenger Rooms, Facebook users can host group calls with up to 50 people and to make it easy for others to join, Facebook lets users post links in their News Feed, Groups or event pages. Notably, people can join a video chat room without having the Messenger app or a Facebook account. Of course, there are also some features in place so that hosts can lock their rooms to prevent unwanted guests.
Messenger Rooms offers immersive 360-degree backgrounds and multiple camera filters, including options to enhance visibility of one's face and space.
