‘Clueless’ definitely makes it on my Top Ten Movie Lists for many reasons, one of which has to be Cher’s closet which this Merry-go-round coat rack reminds me of. I mean, what girl wouldn’t want a huge closet that can be looks like a carousel? Although not made for a closet (but rather for public spaces) I think it’s still a great design.
Installed last year for the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, the Merry-go-round coat rack recently won the Golden Eye at the Dutch Design Awards 2009. If only I had the means to contact designer Wieke Somers to commission one of my own!
