Its easy to make friends when you're in school, but once you've graduated, forming close bonds and meeting new people becomes harder and harder. To combat this, 'Patook' has introduced itself as a platonic 'match-making' app. Functioning like the popular dating platform 'Tinder,' this app enables users to find like-minded people in their area.
Users are simply asked to fill out a questionnaire so the app's algorithm can help them find individuals with similar basic interests. Users are then able to swipe through potential friends, messaging them if their profile sparks an interest. The app's algorithm has a method of filtering out flirty messages, to ensure the app remains platonic.
This platonic iteration of Tinder speaks to a new market of digital relationships.
