The MC Escher Wallpaper collection is a result of Jannelli & Volpi incorporating Maurits Cornelis Escher's artwork into a home. The artist often explores the concept of infinity, using repetitive designs and incorporating the laws of physics and optics. The unique visuals allow both realistic worlds and surreal worlds to co-exist. The late and great artist's work still remains prominent in modern day, as it is used in data visualizations and in backgrounds of video games. Janelli found a deep admiration for Escher's work and decided to commemorate the artist with this collection, set to be unveiled at Milan Design Week.
The MC Escher Wallpaper collection explores wallpapers, wall coverings, and upholstery fabrics after paying close attention to the artist's intricate techniques, and implementing it to its technical process. Fabric materials were selected to reflect the captivating metallic visuals to match the artist's idea of water and air.
