The Mark Twain Birthday Doodle has Tom Sawyer Painting Google

Exactly 176 years ago today the famous author American author was born and Google is celebrating with its Mark Twain Birthday Doodle. The Google Doodle is the largest one to date, spanning the whole page and features the famous ficticious Tom Sawyer depicting the scene where he paints a fence, but in this modern version he is painting the Google logo on it.

Google has a short history, starting from 1998 of having Google doodles to celebrate special occasions from Thanksgiving to Halloween. Google even commissions famous artists to design the logo for them. The celebration of Mark Twain from Google is appropriate. The author was also a fan of new technology, investing his money in the typeset. Unfortunately the technology was made obsolete. Nonetheless, cheers to the Mark Twain Birthday doodle as a modern technological wink to his life.
