Mariachi music is considered an important part of Mexican culture, which is why a summer camp exists for youth celebrating their Mexican heritage. A Kickstarter project is trying to help young people with their camp fees. This summer internationally celebrated Mariachi musician Maestro José Hernández of Mariachi Sol De Mexico will be at camp, offering the music students a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from him.

While traditional summer camps might focus on crafts and the outdoors, themed summer camps are not much of an exception from art to leadership. And while religious camps are prominent as well, this Mariachi music camp stands out as it represents such a specific element of Mexican culture. In addition to music, the campers can also be seen in traditional dress.
