The 'Vasu' is an innovative smartphone case that could help to provide a malaria diagnosis for those in developing parts of the world. Created by industrial design student Leroy Huikeshoven, the 'Vasu' case is currently designed to be used with the Huawei Ascend P6 smartphone.
The internal components of the 'Vasu' case enable a small amount of blood to be analyzed to help provide a malaria diagnosis and get the person to treatment as soon as possible. The conceptual 'Vasu' could help to revolutionize third-world healthcare and enable healthcare professionals to obtain crucial data in a matter of moments without a lab.
The 'Vasu' smartphone case is the winner of the Innovative Application Student Award from the Dutch company Luxexcel.
