Apple's Mac Mini Ships M6 and M5 Pro

Apple updated the Mac Mini with two configurations: an M6-powered entry model and a higher-end Mac Mini using the M5 Pro, featuring Apple's N1 wireless chip for Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Both retain the same compact M4 chassis while packing upgraded internals and speedier external networking.

The M6 Mac Mini starts with 16GB unified memory and 256GB storage and uses a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU on a 2nm process with 170GBps memory bandwidth. The M5 Pro model begins with 24GB/512GB and can be configured up to 18 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores with 307GBps bandwidth. Storage is twice as fast across the range, both offer 2.5Gb ethernet (upgradeable to 10Gb), and rear ports include Thunderbolt 4 on the M6 and Thunderbolt 5 on the M5 Pro.

These upgrades boost on-device AI and graphics headroom for heavier tasks such as photo and video upscaling and larger diffusion models. Both Mac Minis ship with macOS 27 Golden Gate preloaded and are positioned for users needing compact, higher-throughput desktop performance.
