Alexander &CO., an Australian architecture and design firm, has completed the interior design and creative branding for the inaugural Mondrian luxury lifestyle hotel in Australia. Located at Burleigh Beach on the Gold Coast, this hospitality destination was developed for the Vitale Property Group and the Mondrian brand.
Alexander &CO.'s luxury lifestyle hotel project encompasses two primary dining venues within the establishment — a ground-level Italian restaurant and lobby bar called LiTO and a third-floor seafood restaurant, dubbed Haven, with an adjacent pool club. The design concept for these dining destinations aims to synthesize the local bohemian and surf-oriented culture of Burleigh Heads with the international sophistication of the Mondrian brand. The interiors feature a material palette intended to evoke a sense of weathered, sun-bleached coastal ruins. In order to achieve this feel, Alexander &CO. utilized elements such as custom timber and brass furniture, Venetian plaster, aged terrazzo, and curved concrete forms in a color scheme of burgundy, sage green, and rust.
