Refined Luxurious Townhouses

MKCA Creates a Contemporary Interior with a Strong Romantic Twist

New York-based firm Michael K Chen Architecture (MKCA) takes it upon itself to create a stylishly refined interior and layout for this luxurious townhouse. Located in the Upper East Side, it has existed since 1897. Thus, it is unsurprising that the seven-storey structure called for a complete overhaul. The design company focuses on maximizing the continuous influx of natural light into the building's interior.

The status of the luxurious townhouse is evident upon entering the premises, where MKCA installs an incredibly intricate sculptural stairwell. The transition to a contemporary living abode was no easy task as "MKCA found the structure in disrepair." Previously serving the function of a building with 17 separate apartments, the architects restore the luxurious townhouse and make it suitable for a single family.
