Glass-Wood Lighting

The Liuku Pendant Lamp by Maija Puoskari is Gorgeously Contemporary

The Liuku Pendant Lamp is a beautiful juxtaposition of glass and wood. The light source itself is embedded right into the wood, which also acts as its base while the glass is the diffuser. Yet what makes the Liuku Pendant Lamp special is how it fits together. The wooden base, which takes on either a cone or spherical shape, rests both inside and outside of the glass. The mouth of the glass ensures a snug fit.

Designed by Maija Puoskari, an industrial designer born in Tornio, North Finland, and based in Helsinki, the Liuku Pendant Lamp is set to make its debut during the Salone Satellite exhibit in Milan, as part of Salone del Mobile in April 2014.
