A Scottish electronics developer and designer by the name of Tony Adams has gone ahead and devised a truly innovative and exceptional levitating lamp that offers a wonderfully unique blend of high-tech engineering and forward-thinking steampunk design.
What makes this levitating lamp float the way it does is the inclusion of rare earth magnets in the base and underside of the display. The lamp stays in place in its levitating position thanks to the use of electromagnets in the base. The clock display is fully capable of staying in place for up to 30 hours if there's a power outage, thanks to the embedded battery backup.
This levitating lamp is a wonderful example of steampunk design allied with high-tech engineering.
