The Leif is an electric skateboard that aims to bring the sensation of snowboarding to the streets, so you don't have to suffer from snowboarding withdrawal when there's no snow on those hills.
The Leif electric skateboard's design features a unique wheel layout with wide trucks in both the front and rear. The board features narrow caster wheels set on a rotating plate and powered by a 2,000 watt electric motor. This third wheel is capable of spinning 360 degrees, giving the board omni-directional turning capabilities and giving it a floaty, snowboard-like feel.
The developers of the Leif board have taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for production of the product. A pledge of $1,299 will get you a board if and when the project meets its $90,000 fundraising goal.
