LEGO-Inspired Hourglasses

Brick Dangerous Designs LEGO Hourglasses That Actually Work

LEGO Master Builder ‘Brick Dangerous' debuted a working LEGO hourglass design in three colorways. Made with "just 575 pieces," everything in this design is made with LEGO bricks—from the "glass" that holds the sand to the "sand" itself.

Brick Dangerous deputed the impressive LEGO hourglass design on the LEGO Ideas forum, "an ardent community of hundreds of thousands LEGO enthusiasts who build, appreciate, and vote for designs made entirely out of LEGO bricks." The forum is one clever way that LEGO engages its cult-fan following. Each LEGO creation proposed by a user is eligible to gather votes from other users. If a fan-created design reaches 10,000 votes, the LEGO Ideas board will turn the concept into a retail box set. As of today, Brick Dangerious' LEGO hourglass has 7,379 supporters.
