Yusong Zhang — an art director based in Los Angeles, California, uses his understanding of architecture and good design in the creation of a rectangular LEGO coffee table that proves to be a playful addition to the contemporary interior. With a monochromatic white on the outside and engagingly multi-colored on the inside, the custom furniture piece is created with 10,480 individual pieces. Without employing adhesives and other tools, the LEGO coffee table is yet another example of how versatile the Danish building blocks really are and how the product does not subscribe to categorical boundaries. That is, it transcends its initial value as a toy.
The LEGO coffee table was created by Yusong Zhang who was interested in harnessing the timeless aesthetic of the blocks while creating something that is practical and can be used in day-to-day narratives.
