The Siemens ‘Superstar’ -- a gigantic Christmas star light display created in collaboration with Munich light artist Michael Pendry and Munich City Utilities -- is lighting up the sky over Munich.
To bring the artist’s vision to life, Siemens fitted a wind turbine with 9000 LEDs. The display is as bright as 20,000 Christmas candles, but uses only as much electricity as a hand-held hair dryer.
The Superstar can be seen from 4:30 p.m. to midnight and from 4:53 a.m. to 8 a.m. and will be on display through January 6th, 2010.
