Wireless Solar-Powered Lights

Lund University Students Explore the Benefits of Solar Power

Lund University students have debuted a collection of solar-powered lights that display the benefits of off-grid designs in different settings—"from street food stalls to refuge camps." The creations also spotlight the reliability and effectiveness of solar power, in general.

The interesting solar-powered lights are on display at Eindhoven's Klokgebouw venue. The exhibition, which is titled 'A Light That Never Goes Out,' is running for Dutch Design Week. There are a total of nine designs on display, including Lykta by Ludvig Djerf and Leo Olsson, as well as the Off/On Grid system by Martina Claesson and Luisa Wirth. Both of these designs have a distinctly modern-industrial aesthetic. Other solar-powered lights include the Eye lamp which Nicolò Guanziroli designed for refugee camps and the Stick Light by Nils Tarukoski and Linus Brorsson which is suitable for camping.
