As its name suggests, Forty Ounces Wine specializes in the creation of large wine bottles.
A standard 750-mL bottle of wine only holds about 25 ounces of liquid, which is about six single-serve glasses of wine. Forty Ounces Wine sets itself apart by offering "forties" of muscadet, and as of this spring season, rosé. While forty-ounce bottles usually only contain high-alcohol malt liquor, this new large wine bottle format introduces a new way to enjoy organically farmed wines.
Alongside flavor-specific category crossovers like cocktail-inspired beer and tequila-vodka hybrids, key players across the alcohol industry are adapting adjacent packaging styles. Other examples of this include wine that is packaged like beer in slim bottles with metal caps or cans for on-the-go convenience. As a result, wine culture, which can seem intimidating to some consumers, seems much more appealing and approachable.
