After years of planning and construction, the 'La Seine Musicale,' a music hall near Paris designed by Shigeru Ban Architects, is ready to open its doors.
The gorgeous egg-shaped building is defined by a unique solar-paneled sail, which rotates around the building's exterior, following the sun. In addition to generating clean energy, the mobile tail also blocks the sun from entering the lobby, which creates shade for the lobby's visitors. This complex music hall is comprised of both a small music venue as well as a large auditorium, and is set to host concerts, musicals and ballets.
