The recently completed Kokoo Boutique in Nicosia, Cyprus, is a perfect example of a gorgeous (and practical) surrealist interior design for a retail shop.
Deftly designed by architect and interior designer Konstantinos Chalaris, the Kokoo Boutique features a relatively minimalist design with the exception of three conspicuous surrealist installations -- sports umbrellas as a place to hold shop accessories, a suspended golden egg adorned with human legs and a giant chicken.
“We used stylized elements of nature juxtaposed in surprising combinations,” said Konstantinos Chalaris, the founder of his own architecture and design company, Supernova Studios.
The success of his Kokoo Boutique design has created serious demand for the services of Konstantinos Chalaris. His next projects include hotel design in China and a corporate refurbishment for a technology company in Greece.
