The Offmat kitchen sink offers a modern design of the traditionally standard home appliance with a retractable and levelled shape that blends seamlessly into the counter. While the sink remains an accessible feature, its design does not create an obstructive dent into the counter. This allows the space to be leveraged for other activities when the sink isn't in use. To access the sink and its features, consumers simply use gesture control to send commands to the sink to lower into functional use.
The retractable sink's design was developed by Marmo Arredo and Tipic with gesture control technology to allow consumers to use motion command. The sink opens and lowers in height to with the sweeping of a hand and can even turn on without the user needing to physically touch the sink. This is ideal for maintaining hygienic use.
