IKEA is a company that's on the cutting edge when it comes to making the most of technology for marketing, especially with its new virtual reality kitchen experience.
The newly launched 'IKEA VR Experience' runs on HTC Vive and Steam and makes it possible for consumers to preview one of three kitchens that are styled differently. With the click of a button, users are able to change the colors of cabinets and drawers, making the simulated environment feel truly like their own. In order to make the experience feel even more personal, users have the chance to switch perspectives, giving them the chance to see the kitchen through the eyes of a small child or a six-foot-tall adult.
Beyond interacting with the IKEA VR Experience, people are encouraged to submit ideas to make the experience even better. IKEA says that is sees this new tool "as an opportunity to co-create with people all around the world."
