Keira Rathbone makes detailed drawings using her typewriter. The inventive London artist owns 30 typewriters and spends as many as 90 hours on a typewriter-produced drawing.

Although she uses different tools, Rathbone can draw portraits, architectural sketches and landscapes just as well as an artist can with a pencil. By manipulating the paper and roller while hitting the typewriter keys, Keir Rathbone carefully crafts the images that seem to appear like magic on the page.

Implications - Keria Rathbone has done something many artists spend their whole career trying to do: established a distinguishable and unique artistic aesthetic. Her arsenal of 30 typewriters has given her more space to create memorable and original portraits of such notables as President Barack Obama, Kate Moss, and Marilyn Monroe, amongst others.
