Katrina Lin understands that even though modern weaponry has come a long way, there’s something still inherently badass about the sword. It makes for great action scenes because subjects brandishing these short range weapons need to get close and personal to confront their opponents, which is exactly why Lin equips most of her illustrated characters with intimidating, ornate and impossibly large blades. Of course, these damage dealers would be impractical to use in real life, but it’s the fantasy of it all that makes Lin’s illustrations fun to look at.
Katrina Lin is a Canadian artist whose style is a visually pleasing blend of Japanese anime and fantasy illustrations. Those curious as to how she produces her magnificent work can check out her YouTube videos in which she demonstrates her technique.
