The Jott app ingeniously taps into one of the major roadblocks teen users encounter when accessing or even using social media platforms -- no money to afford a decent data plan, or a data plan at all. It can work without data or a WiFi connection, making it a convenient messaging app on a very important and impressive level.
Those who do use the Jott app willbe able to communicate with others via a closed network within a 100-foot area within school limits. Tech Crunch explains, "It does this by using something called a mesh network that operates on Bluetooth low energy or using a router that can reach within 100 feet of each user." Since texting is the preferred form of communication amongst teens, that makes this app very appealing.
