Jil Sander's Fall/Winter Collection is Minimal and Asymmetrical

Jil Sander's Fall/Winter collection of 2018 stays true to a minimalist aesthetic -- grasping the perfect balance of style that remains current, yet progressive. The collection consists of a wide range of garments, varying from outerwear, accessories, footwear, shirts, bottoms, sweaters and more. The main focus of the line is the amount of opportunity these garments allow for layering, through their asymmetrical designs. The asymmetry enables consumers to layer the pieces in changing the thermal and depth functions.

Aside from the imperfect balance of the pieces, the details also exude a sense of imperfection due to its shrunk wool details that have been washed out. The minimalist aesthetics is displayed through the colors, which include: natural tones, warm whites, light greens, gray, neutral beige, black and navy blue. There is also a very minimal use of hardware, as inspired by "pre-technical sportswear." Instead, there is usage of materials such as "cotton cording, natural horn buttons, with lacquered finishing, and brushed aluminum buttons."
