The prevalence of social media in dining settings has resulted in restaurants taking more creative risks to artfully experiment with their menu offerings, creating unique variations of classic treats --like the gorgeously crafted, deconstructed Jil Jil Jigarthanda that's available at the Permit Room in Bangalore, India.

Jil Jil Jigarthanda is a cool beverage that originated in the streets of Madurai and translates roughly to "Cool Heart." Although many variations of sweet but simple drink exist, the basic ingredients include milk, almond gum, sarsaparilla root syrup, sugar and ice-cream.

Bangalore's Permit Room puts a playful spin on the classic treat, as the chefs re-hydrate the concoction into a jelly-like substance. Various ingredients are then added on top of the jelly base, and served to the diner with a side of reduced milk in flavors of Rose or Nannari.
